Around the Buzz-o-sphere

The gang at BuzzLogic was very excited to see Fortune cover our company's influence monitoring technology and recent funding in the Most Admired Companies Issue (March 19, 2007). Some of the responses from all of you:

Search Engine People says "what's really cool about BuzzLogic, and certainly makes it worthy of the buzz is that it connects the dots, putting it into context and allowing companies to be proactive about with bad news."

Bobby Lehew takes the next step, wondering "how do we not only monitor the discussion, but facilitate or perpetuate (organically) healthy discussions about our brands?" This is what we're hoping to help companies do every day, not just during the moments of crisis that characterize the mass media era, when messaging changed only when it went wrong. Social media is about conversation, so you have to start talking with people who will spread the message and give excellent feedback that will even change your company's message.

Jeff Jarvis thought the opening of the article was entertainingly dramatic. We'd point out that there are no black helicopters involved with what we do, just helping companies indentify key influencers so they can engage before the crises that Fortune emphasized.

David Churbuck, one of our fantastic beta testers, chimed in: "We've been testers for over a year, and have used it to help identify customers with problems. The Fortune article recounts the first effort in our so-called Proactive Support program when I used BL to identify that Rick Klau at Feedburner had a dead ThinkPad. We fixed him. He thanked us. The rest is history."
