Random Snapshot: The Hottest End of Year Conversations

Its always fun to look back at a year as it comes to a close. The search engines do it, so we thought we would do a little analysis of our own, but with a BuzzLogic spin on it. We ran queries around the top headlines of 2007 to see which spurred not the most buzz, but the most influential buzz. Below are a few highlights. Check out David Utters full re-cap at WebProNews here.

More influential movie-buffs discussed Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack character than two other summer blockbuster sequels, Shrek the Third and Spiderman 3, combined. It must have been the cameo by Keith Richards that put the bloggers over the edge.

Guitar Hero, the 2007 sensation, was the game most frequently discussed this year by the opinion leaders in this space. Influential blog posts about the game Rock Band are continuing to gain popularity and attention, but still remain a distant second to conversations around faux guitar playing.

Paris Hilton was number one for something, the top celeb blog subject among the most influential gossip blogs. Was it her jail time? Her acting? Her new fragrance? Latest pet?

Even though the Red Sox won the World Series, the Yankees were still the most talked about team within the leading influential blogs. The most talked about man? Surprise - Barry Bonds.

The iPhone was extremely popular with bloggers, as techies purchased, reviewed and fell in love with their latest gadget.

Larry Craig single-handedly made Congress interesting. And all kinds of influential blogs, from political to entertainment focused, couldnt get enough of his airport and resignation antics.

Stay tuned for what should be an equally eventful 2008!
