Live from AlwaysOn Media in NYC last week, John Shinal at vator.tv interviewed Tim Draper about the significant changes around how new media is distributed, and how his firms investment model will follow suit. He expects the firm may evolve into something that is "a little like a producing company and a little like a venture captial model" but that "somehow we'll pull those two things together and end up with a new model for venture investing that none of us has quite envisioned before."
Wow - times are a-changing. This maps back to a trend we're noticing at BuzzLogic, the idea that big consumer brands are becoming more and more like media companies. Guess it bodes well for venture firms too.
