Agencies on Social Media: All Talk No Action?

The recent TNS Intelligence/Cymfony poll of more than 60 marketers revealed many marketers are less than thrilled with their agencies - PR, marketing and everything in between - ability to drive real impact within social media. Key complaints? Agencies' overall lack of real world experience, and a bad habit of forcing old-school models and thinking into an open media environment. It is a whole new world after all. See AdWeek's coverage here.

Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, and we at BuzzLogic know quite a few. That said, you have to know exactly what you're getting into before signing the dotted line with any firm. Organizations require true partners to help them navigate and capitalize on new media opportunities the right way. Flashy powerpoints and smoke and mirrors won't cut it.

Lisa McNeill from the Ignite Social Media blog has some great recommendations on must-ask questions to separate the posers from the real deal.

In the spirit of doing things right, Adam Metz, the social media guru from LaunchSquad, recently made a cameo at one of BuzzLogic's customer webinars, Blogger Relations Best Practices. Adam provided lots of great, actionable info. Check out the webinar, and his blog here. Thanks Adam!
