Rob Crumpler, President and Chief Executive Officer
Rob Crumpler joined BuzzLogic as president and CEO in October, 2005. An entrepreneur and internet strategist, Crumpler has more than 20 years of experience with high technology growth companies including Microsoft and Intuit. Prior to joining BuzzLogic, Crumpler drove the growth of Microsoft MSN Money. Previously, Crumpler founded On the Go Software where he was president and CEO for seven years. The company became the industry leader in the expense reporting and corporate travel management space and was acquired by Intuit in 1996. While at Intuit, Crumpler led the development of the OFX Consortium, which fathered Open Financial Exchange – the de facto standard for financial reporting and transactions on the Internet.
Crumpler received a BS in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Robert Payne – Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Robert Payne is a managing director at TWAssociates Capital, a Silicon Valley-based merchant bank. Previously, Payne served as managing director at SVB Securities, Silicon Valley Bank, where he specialized in mergers & acquisitions and private placements for companies in software and the Internet. Payne was also active in incubating several successful companies, including WorldChain, vCIS Technology, and BSDi. Prior to SVB, Payne was vice president for Technology Investment Banking for Wachovia Securities, where he focused on underwriting public equity, as well as private placements and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Payne was a senior consultant with Ernst & Young, advising public and private companies on strategy and capital transactions.
Payne received an MBA, with specializations in Finance and Corporate Strategy, from the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago and a BS from UCLA in Economics- Business. Payne is a Certified Public Accountant and speaks fluent German.
Todd Parsons, Executive Vice President Products and Services (Co-Founder)
A co-founder of BuzzLogic, Todd Parsons is responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of BuzzLogic’s software products and services. Prior to founding BuzzLogic, Parsons led development of the Knowledge Bank and Online Business Services for Silicon Valley Bank, where he managed development of productivity and business intelligence products for the bank and venture capital community. Previously, Parsons was a co-founder Textus Worldwide, a supply chain management consulting firm and held senior management positions with InnovationWorld and Artmetropolis. Parsons has served on the faculty of San Jose State University’s Electronic Commerce Program.
Parsons graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Utah.
Robert Schettino, Chief Marketing Officer
Robert Schettino, chief marketing officer, is responsible for BuzzLogic’s marketing and communications initiatives. He joined BuzzLogic from Hyperion, where he led the global communications initiative central to Hyperion’s emergence as the leading business performance management software vendor. Previously, Schettino led the long term communications campaign that successfully repositioned Intuit from shrink-wrapped software company to thriving Internet and electronic finance leader. Schettino also created award winning communications and branding programs for The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel networks on behalf of parent Discovery Networks, and on behalf of Cox Communications.
Schettino has completed executive programs at the Wharton School and is a journalism graduate of Kent State University.
K Ronald Sujithan, Vice President, Architecture and Quality Assurance
An Oxford-educated computer science Ph.D. with broad and deep experience in enterprise software management, research and development, K. Ronald Sujithan leads BuzzLogic’s software design strategy and is responsible for the overall quality and integrity of the BuzzLogic application. Sujithan joined BuzzLogic from Callidus Software, where he directed the development of a modeling and analytic product from inception to delivery, and was responsible for architecting, designing and delivering the core technology for the company’s flagship TrueComp Manager product. Prior to Callidus, Sujithan was principal architect at a startup that developed an adaptive enterprise data virtualization and acceleration product eventually acquired by Cisco Systems, and led the initial development of the J2EE infrastructure for BroadVision's One-To-One Enterprise Application Server. He held several senior development posts at BroadVision, Oracle (RDBMS kernel development for Oracle 8i and 9i) and IBM (multiple CICS products), and was a teaching assistant at Oxford University.
Sujithan was awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Oxford University and a B.Eng. with Honors in Electronic Engineering from the University of London. He has been acknowledged with honors by the British Science and Engineering Research Council and by the Institution of Electrical Engineers, among others.
Will Kessler, Vice President of Engineering
Will Kessler brings to BuzzLogic more than 15 years of experience as a software architect, consultant and entrepreneur. Kessler was responsible for architecting and managing development of IDG.net, which integrated content from 250 worldwide properties, including PC World Online, ComputerWorld, CIO, and InfoWorld, to become a leading Internet hub in the aggregated news space. Kessler has also held senior executive or founding roles in Digital Stories (Sony), ABCFree.com, DigitalFacades and Beyond Technology. Kessler’s technology consulting clients have included Blingo.com, MacHome.com, AdvantageYellow.com, Zinio Systems and American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Kessler graduated from Stanford University with an MSME Smart Product Design and a BSME in Product Design with Special Focus on 3D Computer Graphics in 1987. Kessler also earned a Baccalaureate with Distinction (Philosophie) at Poitiers, France, in 1983.
Kurt Freytag, Vice President Sales & Client Services
Kurt Freytag brings more than 15 years of senior executive and entrepreneurial experience in system architecture and professional services. Recently, Freytag directed the e-commerce operations for The Body Shop where he was responsible for the planning and implementation of multi-national retail e-commerce and CRM platforms. Previously, Freytag founded and directed two professional services companies and has also held senior consulting or executive roles at Blue Shield of California, Bio Online, Franklin Templeton Investments, LabVelocity and WebShopper.
Freytag graduated from Stanford University with a BS in International Relations with a focus on Germany and the European Community.

Jeffrey Glover, Lead Engineer (Co-Founder)
A co-founder of BuzzLogic, Jeffrey Glover is widely acknowledged as a leading authority on desktop publishing and as the author of several groundbreaking instructional CD-ROMs about web site creation and publishing. Previously, he led XOOM.com’s Web initiatives during its growth from a small Web property to a Media Metrix Top 10 site. Glover also designed the ASP product for CaseCentral and is the originator of the iChat community, iChatters.com. Glover serves on the board of two non-profit agencies which have raised more than $500,000 for local and national charities.
Mitch Ratcliffe, Evangelist (Co-Founder)
A co-founder of BuzzLogic, Mitch Ratcliffe is a well-known blogger and leading commentator on the economy and technology. Prior to BuzzLogic, Ratcliffe led the development of streaming news for ON24 Financial Network, and served on the board of directors of Match.com and Electric Classifieds. Internet/Media Strategies Inc., the consultancy he has led since 1996, has worked with America Online, EarthWeb, Audible, Time Warner, ZD Net and Comdex. Previously, Ratcliffe held senior editorial positions for Digital Media and MacWEEK. Widely published, Ratcliffe is the author of three books published by Random House, and his work has appeared in Fortune, Forbes, PCWEEK, PCWorld, National Review and others. A former trustee of Chaordic Commons, Ratcliffe is currently on the advisory boards of Socialtext and iVideoTunes.
Ratcliffe graduated with a BA cum laude in Political Science from Washington State University.
J. Scott Briggs – Corporate Strategy Advisor
Scott Briggs is an advisor, independent business consultant and board member for Internet technology and media companies. Previously, Briggs was president of Ziff Davis, Inc., where he led the company’s entry into technology trade publishing and was instrumental in the creation of landmark media properties including eWeek, ZDNet, PC Magazine, Family PC, Computer Life, Computer Gaming World, Electronic Gaming Monthly and Playstation Magazine, among others. Under his leadership, Ziff Davis became the world’s preeminent media company in consumer computing.
In addition to the technology properties, Briggs held publishing roles for Ziff Davis at Stereo Review, Travel Weekly and Meetings & Conventions magazines. Previously, he managed product exports for Fa. Marker Sicherheits Skibindugen, a German manufacturer of ski equipment.
Briggs was educated at Williams College and the Sorbonne.
Mark Goines – Corporate Strategy Advisor
Mark Goines was most recently the chief marketing officer at PassMark Security, now a unit of RSA, and serves on the board and as an investor for Credit Interlink, Benefit Street, Nolo Press and BullRun Financial. Previously, Goines was senior vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Consumer Division, leading the $200 million Quicken, Quicken.com, Quicken Insurance and Quicken Mortgage portfolio of businesses. Earlier, Goines also led Intuit’s tax and international businesses. Prior to Intuit, Goines held senior marketing and new product strategy positions for Crocker Bank (now Wells Fargo) and Charles Schwab, innovating software and services that formed the foundation for today’s online trading industry. Previously, he managed marketing for consumer electronics companies, Pacific Stereo, Lafayette Radio (now Circuit City) and Discount Records (now Sam Goody).
Goines earned BS and MBA degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.
Rowland Hanson – Corporate Strategy Advisor
Rowland Hanson is chairman & founder of CRH & Associates, a HansonMaslen Group company. Prior to consulting, Hanson was vice president of corporate communications at Microsoft, where he created and executed the company's highly acclaimed branding strategy which included the market introduction of Microsoft's most popular product – a graphical interface he named "Windows." Prior to Microsoft, Hanson served as vice president of worldwide marketing for Neutrogena Corporation, a skin care and cosmetics company that registered phenomenal growth during his tenure through new product introductions and global joint ventures before being acquired by Johnson & Johnson.
Hanson has a BBA from Loyola University and an MBA from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Alfred Lutter – Technology Advisor
Alfred Lutter has more than 20 years experience as a business strategist, software architect and programmer. He has broad and deep expertise in more than 15 programming languages, developer tools and systems. Previously, Lutter held positions as CEO at NetChemistry, CIO at E*Offering and founder & director at Omnisoft. Lutter’s consulting clients currently or previously include Cumulus Media, Unisource Discovery, Epic Management, On the Go Software, EDiX Corporation, Computer Sciences Corporation, University of California, Irvine and Pedcom, Inc.
Lutter earned a MS in Engineering and Management and also a BS in Engineering from Stanford University.
Camie Hackson – Corporate Strategy Advisor
Camie Hackson has more than 18 years of experience in engineering management and product development. In a career that has spanned enterprise and consumer technologies, Hackson has developed and delivered to market more than 40 software products. Most recently, Hackson was vice president engineering, worldwide software development, for Chordiant Software, where she was responsible for the development of all of the company’s products. Previously she was vice president of engineering of OnDemand, Inc. and a co-founder of Managemark. Hackson also held senior engineering positions at Intuit and Software Publishing Corporation.
Hackson earned a MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BA in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
